Willow the Weagle...

Update: Willow has found her forever home!

Don't be fooled by her name! Willow is neither graceful or slender but she sure is cute! And she is all puppy! heart emoticon My last four or five fosters have been pretty easy, I have to say with minimal work but I knew my streak would break and sure enough this lovable fur baby has done just that! Willow is estimated at about seven months old and we think she is a Ryukyu-ken, beagle, and doxie mix. She LOVES everyone! I'm not kidding...she literally thinks everyone in the house, dogs and humans included, are the best thing since sliced bread!
Her personality is hilarious. She grunts...A LOT! She grunts when she scratches, she grunts when she sleeps, she grunts when you wake her up, she grunts just to grunt.
We are desperately working on potty training and she is not fond of the crate but we are working on both. She's a quick learner so I'm confident it won't take long. However, since she's part beagle, this means she is stubborn. That's right folks, she is smart AND stubborn...the perfect combination! And just look at that face!

Lovely Lily...

Update: Lily has found her forever home!

Meet Lily, the Great! And she lives up to that name like she was born with it! Lily is a one year old Border Collie/Oki mix. Now, if that isn't the BEST kind of mutt, I don't know what is. wink emoticon Not only is she beautiful, majestic, and lovable, but she's also got those Border Collie brains. Watch out, Bella, she may just prove to be brainier than you! wink emoticon
I have been truly blessed with my fosters recently, as they have come to me and easily integrate into my pack. My pups are very adaptable, but you have to understand where these dogs that I foster come from. For instance, Lily spent over TWENTY days in Ozato, Okinawa's Death Row/Kill Shelter. Before that, she spent her life on the streets or tied up and used as a guard dog on a farm with little to no human contact, love or compassion.
I may be the one taking them into my home, giving them a second chance at life, but I will have you know, these pups have saved my life as well. I feel lucky to have them here. They remind me how precious life is and how just a little love and affection goes a long way.
